Sam Mitchell

Sam founded Wealthcheck in 2005, and has been the Managing Director since inception. Sam has over 16 years experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to launching Wealthcheck, Sam was a commodities futures adviser and trader for Elders Risk Management, where he provided risk managment advisory services to producers and processors in the Agricultural Industry, through the strategic use of derivatives and physical contracts in both the Australian and International markets.

Sam has also worked as a financial advisor for Commonwealth Securities in their Premium Business Services division. Sam offered wealth creation solutions to the bank’s high net worth clients. Sam also worked on numerous capital raisings including initial public offerings and specialised structured products.

Sam is a Fellow of FINSIA and member of the FPA. Sam holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the Securities Institute of Australia, a Masters of Commerce from the University of Sydney, a Post Graduate Diploma in Economics from the University of New England, and a Degree (Honours) in Agricultural Science from the University of Sydney.

Justin Epstein

Justin is also the Executive Director of One Investment Group, an independent Australian funds management business estabished to provide Responsible Entity/Trustee and Investment services, including Wealthcheck Funds Management.

One Investment Group specialises in a range of asset classes, including real estate, aviation, shipping, private equity, infrastructure and hedge funds. Entities within One Investment Group currently operate as Responsible Entity or Trustee of more than 50 funds, with a total value in excess of A$2 billion.

Justin was formerly the Investment Director of the LJCB Investment Group, one of Australia’s most significant private investment houses. LJCB is diversified in terms of asset class, geographies and economic sectors, and has had significant investments in sectors including financial services, petroleum, aviation and property. During his time at LJCB, Justin was responsible for sourcing and leading investment opportunities and also acted as Head of Corporate Finance for Global Aviation Asset Management, one of the world’s largest aircraft lessors, managing a modern portfolio of 53 aircraft on long term operating leases to airlines around the world.

He has previously worked in group strategy and business development for a major Australian investment bank, for the Corporate Finance Restructuring Division of Ernst & Young, and for a specialised finance and investment group.

Justin is also a Director of an investment company primarily focused on equity investments and distressed debt opportunities. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) from the University of New South Wales.
